May the Games Begin!

So the Olympic games will start this summer, but I think we've started a kickoff to the marathon! It's been a long and info-packed 2 days here in Washington, DC and out of the 40 of us who were placed, 38 are departing in T-minus 3 hrs. Lots of new friends who have the drive and guts to make the change by serving and it's exciting! So here we are, embarking on the most exciting, frightening, gratifying, and difficult journey of our lives...

"If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain." ~Maya Angelou

I think the first one is the reason why all of us who decided to serve, are here. The second and third sentence, I hope, sustains us all through 27 months of service.

Thank you to all of you who have been so supportive through this long process...love you!

My life packed into 2 years.

Just out of curiosity, what happened to the other 2/40 that were supposed to go with your group? Gosh, super excited for you! Sorry I didn't get to wish you a real farewell (other than hollering through Julie's phone!)
