Hípica in Diriá

Sunday, 6/22/08

Diriá is about 20 minutes away from Niquinohomo by mototaxi and the Hípica in Diriá is a “display of horses and their riders.” These people have prepared their horses for this parade for a year to show off trotting tricks in the streets. My sister Consuelo and I left with our cousin to the festival to visit a TEFL volunteer, Marcella, who lives in Diriá. Marcella’s house is on the main street and had her house open to us, complete with barbeque, TONS of marimba music, and dancing. Photos from the fiesta will be posted soon.
